Thais love their animals. So much so that they think that animals’ behaviors are a huge indicator of which lottery numbers will be drawn. This is why many people will buy a lotto ticket if they see a rare animal or notice that their pet is acting oddly. In fact, one woman told Daily News that she bought a lottery ticket with the number “23” after she found a tortoise on the road and spotted it was walking in a way it usually wouldn’t.
3. The more digits you get right, the more likely you are to win
There are two different types of lottery tickets in Thailand: TGL and TCL. These names are printed on the upper left-hand corner of each ticket, and they differ only in their first prize payouts and the tax rate for winnings. TGL tickets pay out a minimum of six million baht, while TCL tickets have a maximum of three million baht.
In addition, there is a bonus prize for getting all six digits correctly in order. This is not guaranteed to happen, but it does increase your chances of winning. However, the bonus prize has been eliminated since 1 August 2015 by the military government. As a result, the odds of winning the lottery are lower now than ever before.
