Repeat violations could result in fines or arrest. Economic police will monitor businesses engaged in lotteries, and take appropriate action if necessary, according to an order from the Ministry of Finance that outlines guidelines for their management in Laos. This order mandates that all lotteries must be operated by licensed entities with registered addresses within Laos, which must also belong to the Lao National Association of Lottery and Gaming and renew their license annually. License holders will also face stringent disciplinary procedures, with suspension or cancellation possible if any violations take place.
