Lottery Online in Thailand

Lottery online is a popular form of gambling that draws millions of participants every year. It’s a revenue generator for organizers, an entertainment option for local communities, and a source of excitement and hope. Even when winnings aren’t large, the lottery experience fosters a sense of optimism and the ability to envision life-altering wealth. And perhaps most importantly, it offers an experience that unites people around a shared dream, creating a powerful economic stimulus that spurs spending and shifts consumer behavior.

The lottery is one of two forms of legal gambling in Thailand and is played by 19 million Thais, or 28.6% of the country’s population. While the bi-monthly national lottery draws – known as the (slaak kin baeng) or saneebing baht – are well attended by citizens, many are now looking for better chances of winning, credit purchases and the convenience of playing online.

There are two types of official tickets sold for the Thai government lottery (TGL) and the Thai charity lottery (TCL). Both are pre-printed with a variety of anti-counterfeiting features and can only be purchased as ticket pairs. Prizes are awarded to those who match the first six digits of their numbers in the order of their choice, with higher-numbered numbers earning a bigger payout. The prizes are announced after the TGL and TCL draws each month on the first and 16th of the month, respectively.

Winners must present their ticket/s and a valid ID or passport when claiming their prize. Winners may also be required to pay a 0.5% stamp duty on TGL winnings and 1% on charitable lottery winnings.
